After Anna Wintour, Sarkozy has decided to award one of the most important honors Franca Sozzani, editor of Vogue Italy, ambassador of the fashion world. An award, this one, following his appointment as Ambassador of UN '"agent provocateur" in the publishing world.

As we read on Wikipedia, the Legion d'honneur (Legion of Honour) is an order of chivalry established May 19, 1802, Napoleon Bonaparte, First Consul of the First French Republic. The order is given to women and men, both French nationals and foreigners, for outstanding merits in the military and civilian. In current usage, the order is given, even at high-level entrepreneurs, high-level employees of the French administration, sports stars as well as people who have connections with the highest part of the executive power.

Franca Sozzani, one of the most famous women in the fashion industry, will be honored March 14 by President Sarkozy of France, of this important office. An important recognition for our country and we are glad to receive it is just the editor of Vogue Italy.

I'm really happy for this honor that France wanted to reserve, Sozzani said. It will be a further incentive to continue in my mission as an ambassador for fashion. My goal is to make this world more accessible, helping new designers, creative professionals and technicians, allowing them anywhere in the world, to work under the best conditions to bring out their talent.
